Thanks cool and bdubs, I appreciate that and will keep you guys in mind if i do go through with an LS swap.
I installed the clutch today, with the help from a few strangers. The two of them were a lot of help and seemed pretty cool. Probably my first two friends down here lol. So now I have 500 miles of easy driving untill I can give the stock KA some hell. Found out it already had a lightweight flywheel on her too. And I already have a committed buyer for the motor/trans if it is still running strong whenever I pull it out. Decisions Decisions....I also ran into a guy today that has an RB25 FD. And am also going over to a guys house tomorrow to pick up a part that has an LS1 WRX. Never heard of it, I guess there is only a handful of them out there so far. I am very interested to see it. |

I saw a ls1 sti last year at import alliance in nashville last year. Cool car but not a fan. I have to say I am not a big fan of ls swaps in general. I respect them because they are great engines out of the box.
I've never been around one or ridden in a ls powered car till recently. It was my buddies ls s13. It probably wasn't the best first impression because even though he was on michilen pilot sports, he still blew the tires off in every gear. I just don't see the fun in spinning tires pretty much throughout the rpm range. Oh and on top of that, he spun out and hit his rear end into the guardrail a month after he got the car. And as of now, he has 2 or 3 reckless driving tickets that I know of. I think he is kind of an attention whore anyway, so that car suits him. Just be warned if you daily the car, you will get a lot of attention and especially from cops. And on top of that, its impossible to carry on a conversation or even hear yourself think in that car. A ls swap in a track car or weekend car is cool but if you are planning on daily driving the car or taking the car on trips, screw that. Maybe my first impression was bad, but me personally, I would never do a ls swap. I think a ls swap in a better, well built chassis like a FD makes more sense. |

sounds like your buddy is an idiot. attention only comes if you call for it. exhaust inside the car can be dealt with both by RLS and some sound proofing.

The interior in my car is as quiet as any other V8 powered car, and I added no extra sound deadening. As far a daily driving a LS swapped car - its prolly one of the easiest car to drive. I have as much power as needed on tap, and it cruises at 1500rpm at 55mph in 6th. Throw on a set of drag radials and my car will dead-hook on the street.
Sounds like your buddy is a fucking moron. |

slid the car a little bit for the first time today. Feels much much much more responsive than my s13 for some reason, even with the alignment off a tad.
Slippin, you need to get a 240. You know you are madly in love with them. Just sell your camaro as a roller and use LT1 and find some way to compensate for the weight. I dont know anything about lt1's.... |

And garage Lu, can you should just sell me your SR now
![]() But if I do get an sr i will prolly just aim for maxing out the t28 with 550's. I know a 320 whp SR is not as fast as a 330 whp LS1 in a 240, but I don't know if I can commit to a v8. Everytime I think of a 240sx and make those engine noises we all do to our selves, the car is a turbo Nissan. So I mite just do an sr, and spend the rest of the money I have left over from selling my car and dirtbike on some other little stuff. I want to do some track events this year(now that I dont have to drive 8 hours round trip) So I will want a few track goodies later this year Im sure |

I agree, I would just do a sr20 swap. Like others stated it will be cheaper and an easier swap. Less headaches for you at school. Put the extra money into wheels/paint/maintanance/misc./or save towards something in the future like a house or something.

someone needs to let me ride in another ls swapped car to change my mind. That ride in that beat up s13 ruined it for me.
I actually just bought an s13 and it had a type x blacktop s13 engine in it. I was planning on parting it out to make profit on it but ended up deciding to fix the wiring problem it had along with many other problems and then sell it for about the same profit. If something ends up happening to where I part out the car, I will let you know about the sr swap. And if anyone is interested in a sr swapped s13, PM me. Its close to being finished and will be up for sale soon. |

As far as a car hooking up, that sounds like a chassis problem. |

Just because I am going SR deffiantly doesn't mean I wouldn't mind an LS swapped car one day. It is a great all around motor. Honestly and LS1 FD would be ideal. I love the flow of an FD, but couldn't trust the rotary to start up every time. I am sure you are very very pleased with your car bdubs

Update: Should be picking up my SR from jdmhookup on monday. Tried today but then got lazy. My new Clutch is finally broke in, so a buddy and I hit up a parking lot for quick fun run today and the car felt solid. I need an alignment very bad, but ZERO understeer.
I was SURROUNDED by LS swap HEAVEN tonight, and made me really appreciate the work it takes to be one of the firsts to do a swap. I spent the night in a shop where two kids are finishing up their week long project of doing an LS1 STi. soo bad ass. My adrenaline is still pumping just from seeing the progress. Its always nice to see some crazy ass swaps |
