And this is something I scanned from some Mustang Magazine a long time ago. The reason I think it is important for everyone to see is it really puts to rest some of the myths about some mufflers making SO much more or less power than others when used in identical applications, with identical piping. The exception to this being, of course, that turbocharged vehicles are much better off with straight-through style mufflers as opposed to baffled/chambered type units.

I like to see how the Flowmaster super40 compares... the good old "choke"masters get a bad rap when they are actually a good performing muffler.

I agree, I think the spreadsheet pre-dates their existence by a few years. I remember scanning that while I was still at ISU, so its at least may of '05 or earlier. Super 40s came out in late '06/early '07 or something didn't they?

The other thing that I like to stress with info like this that is unless you're running a big displacement, High RPM and race-only car, straight pipes do NOT make more power than a good set of mufflers!
